As part of OP Games’ mission to build and progress the games in the space, we have officially contributed to Open Gaming (OG), a funding and research initiative catered towards accelerating the web3 gaming ecosystem.
Open Gaming is one of the many great hosts in the Gitcoin Grants Matching Round to help fund Open Source Projects. Launching March 9, 2022 as one of the 9 ecosystems in Grants Round 13 (GR13). With a grant submission deadline of March 24, 2022.
The ecosystem is specifically looking for grants which directly advance the web3 gaming tools, infrastructure, and/or community. And the grant owner must be part of the project that the funds will go to.
Speaking of funds, a $100,000 matching pool has been raised alongside our Game7 DAO partners and more. Based on met criteria, selected grants will be supported through Quadratic Funding (QF).
But what is QF? QF is the mathematically optimal way to fund public goods in a democratic community. With QF the number of contributors matters more than the amount funded, giving power to the majority and not the wealthiest.
