OP’s Game legos form the backbone of simple and effective integration of Web3 features into any game. Web3 is enabling creators to free themselves from the confines of centralized platforms and instead take full ownership of their creations. OP Games provides the building blocks for developers to integrate these enabling features, as well as the platform to effectively launch Web3 games to a community of players without a centralized entity taking a significant profit cut in between.

Here we’ll explore some of the primary game legos that OP Games offers and how they benefit games, as well as the tech stack it’s all built on.

Lego I — Avatar NFTs

Avatar NFTs infuse your game with unique art, while allowing players to own their experience, add a new dimension of social gameplay, build loyalty to your game, and add the potential for value increase over time. Plus, NFT creators earn royalties from all subsequent sales.

OP Games is currently working to enhance in-game NFTs further through the ERC-6551 standard and AI-powered on-chain NPC technology, known as “Spark” NFTs. Sparked NFTs add yet another dimension of life and a new layer of value to these collectibles.

Lego II — On-Chain Loot

Equip avatars with the proper gear for each adventure! OP Games supports on-chain loot that can be owned and equipped on NFTs. Spark NFTs will be able to actually own their own loot in their own wallets, giving them their own unique items to wear, use, and keep safe.

Lego III — Treasury-Backed Tokens

Add a token to your games which is backed by a treasury and comprehensive tokenomics dictating the total supply, price at various points in the release cycle, uses, utilities, and more.

A token will bring your game ecosystem to life and give players a chance to immerse in the game world and its economy.

OP Games Tech Stack

OP’s game legos are developed on multiple layers. Ethereum and NEAR protocols form the base blockchain layer, NFT contracts reside on Ethereum, while tournament smart contracts live on NEAR.

On top of the blockchain layer, OP Games hosts its storage on decentralized servers: Filecoin and NFT.storage, as well as IPFS for the NFT metadata layer.

Server backends are hosted on Colyseus (multiplayer and Auth server), Nest.js, NFT Minter, AWS, Vercel, and Heroku.

The frontend is built on HTML5 game engines like Vanilla JS, Phaser, Unity, Enable3D, and A-Frame, as well as on React, Scaffold.eth, and Web3Modal.

Game Deployment and Beyond

OP Games is not just about building games with cool decentralized features, they support the deployment and discovery of games as well. Arcadia.fun is the OP Games platform designed to deploy games with Web3 features to a community of players. The platform is streamlined, simple to use, and with the all-new Game Creator Zone, extremely developer-friendly.

OP Games is dedicated to providing small-scale and Indie developers with solutions that will provide a sustainable outlet for their creativity, through the belief that the current available centralized solutions stifle developer creativity and drain profits, while quality decentralized solutions allow a favorable alternative for all involved parties — players, developers, and UGC creators alike.
